The Birchmeadow Centre is a large community, events, and meetings facility that is owned by the Town itself.
It hosts a wide range of groups and activities, and is available for both private and commercial hire.
Working with its user groups, “The Birch” offers a range of presentation and entertainment facilities, with a range of rooms for different kinds of function. There is a small kitchen area that can be used for providing light refreshments.
If a licensed bar is needed, we can provide two of them, along with our own experienced staff. We can provide draught “real ale” or higher quality wines if required.
Thanks to the fact that our user-groups include our local Cinema, amateur theatrical group, and the town's Broadplace Club, users can have access to a wide range of audio, visual, and computer equipment for use in running presentations, teaching & training, and entertainments & parties.
We hold licences for live music and other performers, and have links to a number of local bands and musicians, of varying styles.
And of prime importance, we have lots of parking, with space to each side of the building.
