Main Hall

Switching off ... important, so it comes first

  • Always, first thing - put the projector into STANDBY with its remote control
  • Eject any discs
  • Turn off the DVD player(s) and the audio amplifier
  • If the HDMI cable has been used hang it on back wall in a plastic loop
  • Turn off the power at the wall switch
  • Put the screen away.

Basics

  • The projector is controlled from the Lighting Room, as is the electric-drop screen.
  • It can be used in conjunction with DVD players that are in place, or with a laptop.
  • Laptops can be positioned at the rear of the Main Hall: there is an HDMI cable that runs from the Lighting Room. Laptops that do not have an HDMI output will need a special adaptor - this must be requested in advance.
  • The DVD players should not be moved.
  • Loudspeakers are mounted at the stage-end of the hall.
  • The present system does not work with BluRay players unless physical adjustments are made so we need to know in advance if that's needed
  • Never change any wires or plugs, please.

Setting up - general

  • lower the screen : there's a white remote control on the wall - if it doesn't work the plug behind stage curtains (right) may be out
  • power the cinema equipment using the FAR RIGHT power switch
  • ... on the wall - just above the worktop in the lighting room
  • use the projector's remote control to turn it on
    - point at the projector of course - not at the screen or the DVD player
  • turn on the player(s) and the amplifier ... no amplifier, no sound !!!

When using a Laptop

  • carefully unwind the HDMI cable that's suspended on the rear wall near the shelves & drape it down into the Hall - if that's where the laptop's to be controlled
  • ensure that it is securely plugged in to the bottom socket of the selector switch which has a blue lamp - it's fixed to the shelves in the lighting room
  • press the switch's selector button to get the blue light to the bottom
  • volume control is via the amplifier - which needs to be on, of course

When using a DVD player

  • ensure that the blue-lamp HDMI selector switch is set to receive from the player by pressing the button until the blue lamp sits near the right-side position
  • turn on the sound amplifier with volume control turned down, by pressing the square button - a red light illuminates
  • control the play from the DVD player (it has a remote)
  • control sound with the volume knob on amplifier

Pritchard Room

  • there is an HDMI cable link between the first and middle windows
    - and there's a power supply there too: including a switch for the projector
  • use projector's remote control to turn it on
  • laptops or other devices that do not have an HDMI output will need a special adaptor - this must be requested in advance.

Switching off

  • Put  the projector's speaker (if it has been used) down to zero using the remote
  • Then - always - put the projector into STANDBY with its remote control as the FIRST power-down action
  • Unplug your laptop's connections
  • LAST - turn off the power to the projector at the wall switch
