All hirings must be individually agreed through the Bookings Secretary.
The hourly hire charge is £5 to ‘not for profit’ voluntary & community groups, and £10 to commercial operations and individuals hiring the café for profit.
(as at March 2013)
- The café space may be hired for use as an operating café.
- The hourly charge includes access to the small stock of crockery held by the Centre, which must be cleaned and replaced after use. All damage or breakage to such crockery will be charged at £1.50
per item. All other required crockery, cutlery and utensils must be provided by the hirer.
- The bar is not available for hire for the sale of alcohol independently from the Centre's own licence, but the area may be used as a part of the cafe's servery.
- The whole of the kitchen area may be used for food and drinks preparation and for cooking, including the hot water dispenser.
- The bar area may be used for preparing drinks (not food), and for dispensing food and drink.
- Refrigerators may be used for temporary storage, and must be emptied and cleaned on the last consecutive day of use. It is the responsibility of the Hirer to ensure that the refrigerators are
operating at the correct temperature, if used.
- Café users may use the toilet facilities in the main part of the Centre (not those in the changing-room extension).
- All floor areas used must be left in clean condition, as must all tables, surfaces, crockery, and sinks. Waste must be removed from the building.
- Hirers must ensure that they comply with all food hygiene and other statutory regulations relevant to the purpose of their hire.
- The latest time for vacating the café area is 17.00.
- Minimum hire time is one hour.
- Payment must be made in full 28 days before the first date of the hire.
- The Centre reserves the right to require a refundable damage deposit of £25.
- Hirers may publicise their service as they choose, but no posters, labels, or signs may be pinned or stuck onto any surfaces within the Centre, nor upon its outside doors or walls.
